How do I choose a soil to suit my plants?
In order to select the right soil, you need to consider the climate, the type of plant, and the soil’s pH level. For example, if you are planting a cactus, you will need soil that has a low pH level so that it can retain the water that the cactus needs. If you are planting flowers, you will need soil that has a high pH level so that the flowers can get the nutrients they need. Professional landscapers can advise on the right type of soil to suit your location and purpose.
What are different soils used for?
Different soils are used for different things. For example, soil that is rich in clay and silt may be very good soil to use if you want to grow a garden because this type of soil has excellent water drainage. However, special soils are also available for turf underlay or a range of commercial projects.
How do I know how much soil to order?
Make sure you have measured the length and width of your garden so you can then calculate the area you need to cover. For example, if your garden is five metres long and ten metres wide, the area is 50 square metres (5x10=50). Landscaping professionals can then help you calculate how much soil you need, based on the area of your garden and the nature of your project.
